I don't remember if the tx2 includes the RecipeBox, but an enterprising person has come up with a way to install it no matter what: http://www.touchsmartdevzone.com/forum/thread/2535/-2-11-2010-Update-Tx2-Touch-Mediasmart-All-in-One-Installer/

hchwa, that's not something I know off the top of my head. It needs investigation. If a resolution can be found, I'll try to post about it here.

I have TX2 Touchsmart laptop and it come with Win7 home premium. I upgrade the OS to Win7 Ultimate and I noticed whenever I try to enter the Personalize screen for the TouchSmart software, it automatically close itself after 2 seconds. Can you tell me if this issue can be resolved?

I haven't spent a lot of time with the RSS app, so I'm not sure. Does it not have some kind of button that says Settings? My guess is that's where it would be.

And I think you're right on the Calendar app. It always starts in the same view. I don't think it has settings that let you say "remember my last view".

I'm starting to use some of the TS 3.0 apps for the first time. Do you have any other customization tips for more apps? For instance, the RSS Feeds app seems entirely incapable of deleting feeds once they are added. And the Calendar doesn't remember which view (month or week) you selected last time.

Any hints on these or other apps?

Thanks

A tile for a Windows program does exactly what you guessed: TouchSmart minimizes and the program runs as it normally would in/on the Windows desktop. Webpage tiles are new instances of the TouchSmart browser (they get placed in the bottom row after creation), even though the simplified creation mechanism pulls from the IE Favorites to present a list to pick from.

Thanks for this writeup. My 600xt should be here in a week. Now I have a head start on the inevitable customization.

A couple of questions. What happens when you use a tile that you create from a program (for instance Notepad)? Does it minimize the TouchSmart software and launch in Windows? What about a tile from a web page? Does it launch in the browser in the TouchSmart software?
